How to Participate

Existing Members

Beginning in October 2025, a new standardized contract – created by the Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY) and called the Statewide Common Participation Agreement (SCPA) – will govern participation in the SHIN-NY through Bronx RHIO. This mandatory agreement, required by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), will replace your existing Bronx RHIO participation contract.

Please complete the three steps listed below by September 30, 2025, for regulated entities. Non-regulated entities have until March 31, 2026, to complete the steps below.

  1. Fill this survey or email information@bronxrhio.org who the SCPA signer should be for your organization. Bronx RHIO will validate and send to NYeC who will send out DocuSign
  2. After receiving DocuSign, please take the following two actions while signing it:
    • Check the box for choosing Bronx RHIO as your Designated Health Information Network (HIN) for exchanging data through SHIN-NY and to retain current services. (You can only choose one HIN)
    • Check the box to choose Bronx RHIO as your Value-Added Services HIN.
  3. Complete and sign Bronx RHIO’s services agreement to continue receiving our value-added services, such as analytics and custom reports. You can choose Bronx RHIO as your Value-added services HIN regardless of which designated HIN is chosen.

New Members

Please see if your organization is already a member of the Bronx RHIO by checking our Directory of Participants. If your organization is not a member of the Bronx RHIO, the CEO of your facility must complete the steps below:

  1. Fill and sign Bronx RHIO Application for Participation
  2. Fill and sign Bronx RHIO Participant Risk Assessment 
  3. If you don’t have an existing SCPA, Bronx RHIO will co-ordinate with NYeC to send out SCPA DocuSign to the CEO. After receiving DocuSign, please take the following two actions while signing it:
    • Check the box for choosing Bronx RHIO as your Designated Health Information Network (HIN) for exchanging data through SHIN-NY and to retain current services. (You can only choose one HIN)
    • Check the box to choose Bronx RHIO as your Value-Added Services HIN.
  4. Complete and sign Bronx RHIO’s services agreement to receive our value-added services, such as analytics and custom reports. You can choose Bronx RHIO as your Value-added services HIN regardless of which designated HIN is chosen.
